Parks on Tap
Fairmount Park Conservancy
Summary
A traveling beer garden visiting locations throughout the Philadelphia’s parks. The concept reimagined park engagement while generating revenue for reinvestment.
My Role
As a project consultant -and later Assistant Director of Business Development - I developed and launched Parks on Tap—collaborating with city leadership at Philadelphia Parks & Rec., FCM Hospitality (the local restaurateur/operator), and neighborhood groups to create a welcoming experience rooted in both community connection and financial sustainability.
Approach
Designed concept, program, and vendor selection
Oversaw strategic site selection, logistical framework, and seasonal scheduling to balance high visibility locations, neighborhood parks, and hidden gems
Built partnerships with Parks & Rec, FCM Hospitality, Park Friends Groups, and promotional partners
Coordinated branding, marketing, and public relations
Developed a reinvestment model to return proceeds to park maintenance
Led engagement and regulatory coordination across city departments
Outcomes
100K+ visitors annually
$1M+ in seasonal revenue reinvested into public parks
Created a nationally recognized model for public space activation
