Parks on Tap

Fairmount Park Conservancy

Summary

A traveling beer garden visiting locations throughout the Philadelphia’s parks. The concept reimagined park engagement while generating revenue for reinvestment.

My Role

As a project consultant -and later Assistant Director of Business Development - I developed and launched Parks on Tap—collaborating with city leadership at Philadelphia Parks & Rec., FCM Hospitality (the local restaurateur/operator), and neighborhood groups to create a welcoming experience rooted in both community connection and financial sustainability.

Approach

  • Designed concept, program, and vendor selection

  • Oversaw strategic site selection, logistical framework, and seasonal scheduling to balance high visibility locations, neighborhood parks, and hidden gems

  • Built partnerships with Parks & Rec, FCM Hospitality, Park Friends Groups, and promotional partners

  • Coordinated branding, marketing, and public relations

  • Developed a reinvestment model to return proceeds to park maintenance

  • Led engagement and regulatory coordination across city departments

Outcomes

  • 100K+ visitors annually

  • $1M+ in seasonal revenue reinvested into public parks

  • Created a nationally recognized model for public space activation
